I Should Do

Date Written: March 2012

As the years go by
More memories are made
As we grow and mature
Old interests just fade away
Our freedom becomes less and less
As more responsibility gets lugged onto our shoulders
We demand and want
But forget to need
You tell us to live life how we want it
But how can we do that when you make us feel so restricted
You say I should do this
You say I should do that
But what’s the point of trying if you always want something more out of it
I try something just for fun
Yet you push my happiness down the drain
You urge me to get something out of thin air
You say you understand
You say I should have gotten it first
But do you really care
On what I have to say
Because if you really did care
Then you wouldn’t tell me what I should do

To Be

Date Written: 30 December 12

To be out in the breeze
Is what I really need
To be flying over the skies is
Something I crave to see
To see the world under my shoulders
Instead of always crushing them with ease

To be free from perfect sin
Would be a blessing and a curse in my eyes
The saying “no one is perfect” is just a flat out lie
Everyone and everything is perfect in their own special way
So why are you telling me “there is no other way”

There’s always a choice
And there’s always endless time
So why are we rushing to take what
We are unable to obtain?

Is the need to want really that great?
Or is it because you want to be wanted?
Do you want to be accepted?
Or would you rather be rejected?

Either way, I am still alone
Singing in the breeze

To be out in the breeze is what I really want
To be flying over the skies is
Something that I wish to be seen
To be seen as a person
Instead of a blessing
Is a curse I am willing to find

To find in the midst of snow
where there are no foes
Only friends who see me glow

Glow the color of an angel’s wings
And to be as deceptive as a devil’s wants
And needs

Is what I want to be
To be me

Anger Is The Fire That The Environment Can Only Fuel

Date Written: 24 April 2024

Annoyance bubbles at the base of my throat
Gassing and fuming as it grows
Little blips of burning air
Escape through my nostrils and lips

This rage is a fire that builds
As the wood that is my disappointment fuel its growth
With my current environment acting as the oxygen,
This combustion I feel deep within my soul
Will find no reprieve until I inhale more oxygen
And exhale this flame that threatens to burn me
And the ground beneath my feet

I must exile this anger
Banish it from the temple
That is my body
Before it decomposes
And ignites the mines
Lying in wait within my mind

I hope with time
I will breathe in healthier oxygen
And the bubbles of annoyance
Boiling at the base of my throat
Will cool as my disappointment lessens
With each new breath I take in

Stuck in an Ever-growing Sinkhole of Quicksand

Date Written: 19 May 2016

I wear this cloud above my head again
Wondering who, what, where, and what I did
to make you think that I’m some white carpet
To clean your muddy feet with

I hold this smile, glue it on my mask at the surface
Just to make it through this point in my life
Where I feel I have no true purpose
That I am totally, utterly useless
I wonder what I did to deserve this?

Maybe it was when I became a liar
Or maybe it was the start of me slowly losing friends
One by one, they moved states or dropped a few things;

A muddy carpet and some excess garbage they didn’t want to deal with
They threw them together, some without a garbage bag
Letting the overwhelming, battered magazines thought as newspapers spew all over the carpet
So now the carpet can’t even deal with its own crap; its own garbage

So instead the carpet, messy, slimy, and grimy, finds some thin bottles
Worn down over past use and fills them each with a piece of trash of the carpet’s own
Because the brown black and grey muck soil the white coloring of this floor fur
Corrupting the carpet while the corroded darken it more

And no matter how much baking soda or cleaning supplies is used by the humans who care,
The root of the dirt is dulled, but still there

I wear this cloud above my head again
Wondering who, what, where, and what I did
to make you think that I’m some white carpet
To clean your muddy feet with

When Boredom Strikes

Date Written: 25 April 2025

Staring blankly at a screen has become routine
My hands remain idle no matter how much my mind may scream
at them to move- to type- to write anything that comes to mind

But as the days grow from similar to the same
My thoughts will wander out far and away
Away from my hovering hands and hazy eyes
And into the lands we only dream about high in the sky

Back Off Mate

Date Written: 2015

I’m only here for the ride
So if you want to stay by my side
You better be ready for the fight, the flight, and the right I’m about to give you
There is no justification that will make me stay
There is no sappy love song that will melt my heart that way
So you can either join me or take a hike my “Bae”.
My mind is livid mess
And always causes you some stress
It breaks my heart seeing you lose your sleep over a girl like me
I leave for days, running on all fours
You freak, you worry, and you run out the door
Using your birth-given speed to gently bump me to the ground
Growling and whimpering at me makes me want to cry.
As much as I love you Alpha Boy
I need to be free
Those possessive growls and jealous tight smirks are just too much
My wolf and I are restless wanting to be free
Free of your watchful, lustful eyes
I get that we are made for each other,
I really truly do!
However back off mate
Because the jokes on you

Blood Is Slain

Date Written: 01 April 2016

Red liquid pumps within our veins
Gray swallows all it’s prey
Red bleeds as we decay in chains

And no one can hear our pains
No one can call out without a say
Red liquid pumps within our veins

The superior hold the reins
While the inferior’s hair grows gray
Red bleeds as we decay in chains

Revenge holds our tongues with false gains
Forgiveness holds our hearts with a sun’s ray
Red liquid pumps within our veins

And no matter what, our life has lain
In the sense that we are no longer happily gay
Red bleeds as we decay in chains

Oh sweet revenge, you make success look plain
Revenge, you are the perfect mix of onyx and beryllonite. You are the murky gray.
Red liquid pumps within our veins
Red bleeds as we decay in chains

Letting Her Go

Date Written: 07 March 2016

Friends are great
Friends are grand
Only if they give you a helping hand
Otherwise the friend is just bland

Support
I’m in control
What else am I on a roll?
I want to embrace this feeling, to have without some dead weight

Friends are great
Friends swell my heart with patient validation
I am control

I fantasize; my future is so bold
I know and I imagine
My wings have sprouted
Flapping about

Friends are great
If they give you a piece of their vulnerable heart
If they make you smile with love
My best friend fills a gap inside me

My old best friend left a hole in my chest
My mind
My soul
She made me regret living when I had no one to hold

Friends can be great
Goodbye my old friend
Your poison no longer fills my holes

What Has Been Made

Date Written: 2014

Hands like silk
Mufflers in my eyes
You’re something I despise

With every step I take
It’s a crushing blow to my ego
To know that you would rather walk away than stand and fight by my side

Tears in my eyes
Why do I even try?
When I fail to love
A soul such as yourself

To the man dressed in silver
And the woman cloaked in black

His hand is like silk spun from a spider; delicate and fragile
Her arms are the webs in which we all get entwined with our lies

Joined as two
Made as one
This has become
Unity undone
